There are no restrictions on boat size when listing or searching for moorings or dockings on Marina Match. However, each mooring or docking spot has its own capacity limits, including maximum length, width, draft, and weight. To find the right fit for your vessel, simply add your boat’s details when searching or listing. This will help ensure a perfect match for your mooring needs.

Marina Match is an Australian online platform connecting boaters with marina and private jetty owners across the world. It simplifies the process of finding and booking berths, moorings, and docks for rent or sale.

Click on “Register” at the top right corner of the homepage. Marina Match offers two dashboards—one for hosts and one for guests. You don’t need to create separate accounts; you can easily switch between the two roles within a single profile. For added convenience, you can also sign up using your Google, Facebook, or Apple account.

We’re currently developing the Marina Match mobile app, with an expected launch date in June 2025

Marina Match uses Stripe, one of the world's leading online payment providers, because it offers:

  • Secure, encrypted payment processing
  • Identity verification for payment recipients
  • Transparent payment distribution
  • Protection against fraud
  • Compliance with Australian and international financial regulations

Marina Match does not hold or process customer funds.

When a booking is made:

  • The boater pays through Stripe.
  • Stripe automatically distributes the booking payment.
  • The marina or dock owner receives the berth rental amount.
  • Marina Match receives only the agreed platform service fee.

This means payments are handled fairly, securely, and transparently for everyone.

No.

Marina Match never holds customer payments.

All payments are processed directly through Stripe, which securely distributes the funds to the appropriate parties.

Depending on your country and business type, Stripe may request:

  • Your legal name
  • Business details (if applicable)
  • Bank account information
  • Government-issued identification
  • Address verification

This information is collected and securely stored by Stripe, not by Marina Match.

Each marina or private dock owner selects their own cancellation policy. The applicable policy is displayed on the listing page before you confirm your booking and forms part of your booking agreement.

Yes. You can cancel your booking at any time. Whether you receive a refund depends on the cancellation policy selected by the marina and when you cancel.

Marina Match offers seven cancellation policy options:

  • Free Cancellation
  • Flexible
  • Moderate (Recommended)
  • Firm
  • Strict
  • Super Strict
  • Non-Refundable

Each marina chooses the policy that best suits their business.

For more information, please refer to our Cancellation Policy.

The marina's cancellation policy will apply. However, the marina may choose to issue a full or partial refund at its sole discretion.

If you depart before your scheduled departure date, you are generally not entitled to a refund for the unused portion of your booking unless the marina agrees otherwise.

Force Majeure refers to extraordinary events beyond the reasonable control of the marina or the boater that prevent the booking from proceeding safely.

Examples include:

  • Natural disasters
  • Severe storms
  • Government restrictions
  • Harbour or marina closures
  • Environmental incidents
  • War or terrorism

Whenever possible, Marina Match encourages both parties to communicate and agree on an alternative arrangement before considering cancellation.

Yes.

Many marinas will consider exceptional circumstances and may provide a full or partial refund at their discretion.

Yes.

Marina operators can choose the cancellation policy that best suits their business. Any changes will only apply to new bookings. Existing bookings remain subject to the cancellation policy that was in effect at the time the booking was confirmed.

Every marina operates differently.

Some marinas can easily fill cancelled berths, while others may lose significant income from late cancellations, particularly during peak seasons or for long-term bookings.

Offering a range of cancellation policies allows each marina to choose the level of flexibility that best meets their operational needs while providing boaters with clear expectations before they book.

You can search for available mooring or docking spots on the Marina Match website. Use the filter function to find listings that meet your specific needs. To complete a booking, you’ll need to sign up as a guest. Once your booking is confirmed, you can view all your booking details in your personal dashboard.

Use the search bar on the homepage to enter your desired location, dates, and dock type. To broaden your search, simply select “All.” When you sign up with Marina Match as a guest, you can save your vessel details—including size, type, make, model, and insurance information—so you don’t have to re-enter them each time. The platform will automatically match you with mooring spots that suit your vessel and preferences. Browse the results and apply filters to refine your options.

Yes, once you've selected a suitable listing, you can proceed to book and pay securely through Marina Match.

But we highly recommend you to contact the host to ensure your booking details.

A small fee of 2% plus GST is applied upon completed bookings. Marina Match is thoughtfully designed to serve both hosts and guests as the ultimate, innovative solution for managing marina spaces. This modest fee supports our mission to deliver high-quality service, save users time and effort, and continuously enhance the platform with user-friendly features that make booking and managing berths effortless.

Cancellation Policies on Marina Match

Marina Match offers three cancellation policy options to suit different booking needs. Each host selects their preferred policy for their listing, and it’s clearly displayed at the time of booking. Below is a summary of the available options:

1. Flexible Policy

  • Full Refund: Cancel up to 24 hours before the booking start time to receive a full refund.

  • Partial Refund: Cancel within 24 hours of the booking start time—only the first night’s fee is non-refundable; the rest will be refunded.

  • No Refund: No refund is available if the booking is canceled after the start time.

2. Medium Policy

  • Full Refund: Cancel up to 7 days before the booking start time to receive a full refund.

  • Partial Refund: Cancel between 7 days and 72 hours before the booking start time to receive a 50% refund.

  • No Refund: No refund is provided if the cancellation is made within 72 hours of the booking start time.

3. Strict Policy

  • Partial Refund: Cancel up to 14 days before the booking start time to receive a 50% refund.

  • No Refund: Cancellations made less than 14 days before the booking start time are non-refundable.

Each host chooses the policy that best suits their needs. If you need to cancel a booking, please contact us at info@marinamatch.org. Our team is here to help ensure a fair and smooth process for both guests and hosts.

If you do not arrive and have not contacted the marina, your booking may be treated as a no-show. Refunds will be determined according to the marina's selected cancellation policy.

Yes. Marina Match encourages boaters to contact the marina or private dock owner as soon as possible.

Subject to availability, the marina may agree to:

  • Change your arrival date
  • Extend or shorten your stay
  • Postpone your booking
  • Apply your booking as a credit for a future visit

Rescheduling is often the best solution for both parties.

Boating is heavily influenced by weather and sea conditions.

If adverse weather may affect your arrival or departure, you should contact the marina or private dock owner as early as possible.

Where practical, Marina Match encourages both parties to reschedule the booking rather than cancel it.

Normal weather conditions do not automatically qualify for a refund.

Examples include:

  • Cyclones or hurricanes
  • Severe weather warnings
  • Dangerous sea or swell conditions
  • Flooding
  • Storm surge
  • Port or marina closures
  • Government restrictions
  • Other conditions that make navigation unsafe

Each situation will depend on the marina's policy and the circumstances.

Refunds are determined by:

  1. The marina's selected cancellation policy.
  2. Any agreement reached between the marina and the boater.
  3. Any rights provided under applicable consumer protection laws.

Marina Match does not own or operate the listed marinas or private docks.

We encourage both parties to communicate and reach a fair solution. Where a dispute arises, Marina Match may assist by reviewing the available information and facilitating a resolution in accordance with the marina's selected cancellation policy, our Terms and Conditions, and applicable laws.

Once approved, refunds are processed promptly through Stripe to the original payment method. Refunds typically appear in the boater's account within 5–10 business days, depending on the payment provider and the boater's financial institution.

For booking-specific questions, including cancellations, date changes, arrivals, or refunds, please contact the marina or private dock owner directly through Marina Match.

If you require assistance using the Marina Match platform, our support team is available to help.

Sale listings remain active for 12 months. If you wish to extend the listing beyond this period, the standard listing fee will apply for each renewal.

No.

Account verification is not required for For Sale listings because Marina Match does not process the sale transaction between buyer and seller.

Your listing will become live only after the listing fee has been successfully paid.

Each listing remains active for 12 months from the date it is published.

Congratulations!

Please either:

  • Delete the listing, or
  • Pause the listing

This helps keep Marina Match accurate and prevents unnecessary enquiries from buyers.

Yes.

If you wish to keep your listing active beyond 12 months, simply create a new listing and pay the current listing fee again.

Listings that have been active for more than 12 months will be automatically removed from Marina Match.

This helps ensure all listings remain current and relevant.

Marina Match encourages all users to comply with local maritime safety regulations. Hosts are responsible for ensuring their docks, jetties, and moorings meet all applicable government safety standards to protect both their property and their guests.

To maintain a secure environment, all boaters on the platform are required to hold a current insurance policy. A certificate of insurance is shared with the host as part of the booking process, providing protection and transparency in the event of any potential damage or claims.

Safety is a shared responsibility, and Marina Match is committed to supporting both hosts and guests in creating a trusted and reliable marine community.

Marina Match uses Stripe, a globally trusted and secure payment processing system, to verify host information and ensure safe transactions. Stripe is widely recognized for its reliability and is used by leading platforms around the world.

Host users must complete Stripe verification to receive payments through the platform. Without this verification, hosts will be unable to receive funds unless alternative, direct arrangements are made with the guest. However, in such cases, Marina Match cannot provide support or protection against potential fraudulent transactions.

To ensure safety, accountability, and peace of mind for all parties, we strongly encourage all payments to be made through the Marina Match platform.

There’s no setup fee for commercial marinas. We provide a free interactive marina map setup, and Marina Match only charges a 2% + GST transaction fee, which is added on top of the berth rental fee and paid by the end user (the boater).

This small fee is comparable to a credit card fee and is shared across many users, making it virtually unnoticeable.
If you prefer not to pass the fee on, you can simply adjust your rental pricing to absorb it — the choice is yours.

✔ No upfront costs
✔ Setup included
✔ Flexible pricing options
✔ Fee only applies per booking

Once a marina decides to join Marina Match, we handle the entire initial setup process — free of charge.

Our team will create a custom, interactive live marina map that displays all berths along with real-time availability and user information. To set this up, we’ll need some details from you, including:

  • Berth sizes

  • Rental prices (monthly or annual)

  • Current berth occupier/user information

We then generate individual listings for each berth and create user accounts for all current marina clients. Each user receives login access via their email and a temporary password.

Through their guest dashboard, marina users can:

  • Link a credit card for automatic monthly payments

  • View and download invoices

  • Manage their berth information

As a marina manager (host), you’ll have access to the host dashboard, where you can:

  • View the full live marina map

  • Monitor user occupancy

  • Track and manage payments

  • Update berth availability in real time

Marina Match simplifies operations and provides full transparency and automation for both marina managers and users.

All booking requests and messages will appear in your host dashboard. You can accept or decline bookings and communicate directly with guests through the platform.

Marina Match offers a comprehensive marina management system featuring an interactive real-time marina map, live berth availability tracking, and automated billing. It provides real-time vacancy rates, guest and vessel information, contact details, payment history, and insurance documentation—all in one easy-to-use platform.

Unlike many other marina management systems that impose hefty setup fees, Marina Match provides a fully interactive marina map setup—joining our innovative marine community is completely free of charge.

Fees are only applied when a booking is made through the Marina Match platform: a low 2% transaction fee plus GST, which is added to the boater’s payment along with standard credit card processing fees—an industry norm.

Contact our support team to initiate the onboarding process. We'll assist you in setting up your marina map and importing existing berth data to streamline your operations.

This helps protect both Dock Masters and Boaters by preventing fraud, ensuring secure payments and complying with financial regulations.

Marina Match does not store your banking or payment details. Your financial information is securely processed by Stripe, one of the world's leading online payment providers.

Yes.

You do not need to own a registered business to receive payments.

If you are renting out your private jetty as an individual, simply select:

Business Type: Individual / Sole Trader

This option is suitable for private individuals receiving payments.

If you do not have your own website, you may enter:

www.marinamatch.org

This identifies Marina Match as the platform through which you are receiving bookings.

Not necessarily.

Depending on your country, location and expected payment volume, Stripe may or may not require additional information such as an ABN, tax identification number or other documentation.

If Stripe requests additional information, simply follow the instructions provided during the verification process.

Stripe is required by financial regulations to verify the identity of people receiving payments.

You may be asked to provide information such as:

  • Full name
  • Date of birth
  • Residential address
  • Government-issued identification
  • Bank account details

This information is collected securely by Stripe and is not stored by Marina Match.

However, you cannot receive bookings or payments until your Stripe account has been successfully verified.

Verification helps ensure that payments can be securely transferred to the correct bank account.

No.

Completing Stripe verification does not create a company or register you as a business.

It simply verifies your identity so Stripe can securely send payments to you.

Many people using Marina Match are private individuals renting out their own jetty or berth and complete verification as an Individual / Sole Trader.
