Located in Wilson Cove and sheltered by Sheffield Island, Tavern Island, and Bell Island, Norwalk Yacht Club is a relaxed, family-oriented sailing club with a long-standing history. Founded in 1894, the Club sits just inside Greens Ledge Light in a quiet, protected cove and features a small beach. The surrounding waters offer excellent opportunities for kayaking and paddleboarding through the Norwalk Islands, Village Creek, and Farm Creek. The Club’s mooring field accommodates both sail and power vessels with a range of drafts. Launch service operates seven days a week from Memorial Day through Labor Day, running from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM. After Labor Day, launch hours are 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM Sunday through Thursday, and 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Water and ice are available at the docks, which have approximately seven feet of depth at low tide. Guests may enjoy picnic tables, grills, and ample deck space for relaxing and taking in the views. Showers and an air-conditioned great room are also available. The launch provides easy access to the charming village of Rowayton, where visitors will find casual cafés offering coffee, ice cream, and sandwiches, as well as more formal dining options and access to provisions. Both Rowayton and historic South Norwalk (SoNo) are also easily reached by taxi.
