Description
Welcome to Menemsha Harbor. Our goal is to maintain a well-organized, safe, respectful, and family-friendly marina environment. The harbor serves both recreational boaters and commercial fishermen and remains a historic working waterfront. Many of the village’s fishermen represent generations of local fishing families, and the harbor continues to function as an active departure point for their vessels.
Visitors can enhance their stay by booking a trip with one of our charter fishing captains, relaxing at the public beach near the harbor, riding the bike ferry across Menemsha Pond to Aquinnah, or enjoying freshly prepared seafood at nearby dining establishments. The area is especially well known for its spectacular sunsets.
Moorings
We offer:
Two transient moorings inside the harbor, accommodating up to three (occasionally four) sailboats.
Eight single-occupancy moorings outside the breakwater in the outer harbor, available for both sail and power vessels.
Sailboats requesting a mooring will be assigned one inside the harbor by default unless otherwise specified. Power vessels may only use the outer harbor mooring field.
Please Note: We do not provide launch service. However, complimentary dinghy dock space is available at the Town Dock.
Dockage
Docking options include:
17 transient wet slips
A 120-foot linear transient dock on the east side of the harbor
Accommodations for vessels up to 85 feet on the west side (West Dock)
The inlet can experience strong currents, and most slips require backing in between freestanding pilings. Docking may be challenging for less experienced boaters, but our staff is available to assist and provide guidance when needed.
If you reserve a slip, you will be assigned to a floating dock slip when available. If none are available, you may be placed at a fixed dock or along the bulkhead. If you prefer a floating dock only, please indicate this in the “Special Request” section of your reservation.
The harbor has been dredged to a depth of 9 feet at mean low water (MLW).
We look forward to welcoming you to Menemsha.
