Please note: only boats with a minimum length overall (LOA) of 38 feet are accepted due to harbor wake conditions. Ocean Alliance, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to protecting whales and their ocean environment through research, scientific collaboration, public education, and the arts. Dock fees directly support ocean research and conservation initiatives. Our new docks, totaling 132 linear feet, are located at the head of Gloucester Harbor on the historic Paint Factory site, offering easy access to popular fishing and cruising areas of the North Atlantic. We accommodate vessels both large and small, with drafts up to 12 feet. The private location provides a peaceful setting away from industrial harbor activity, along with spectacular city views and summer sunsets. Parking is available, and the site is within walking distance of the Rocky Neck Cultural District, featuring restaurants, shops, galleries, and parks. About the Facility: The Tarr & Wonson Paint Manufactory produced the first copper antifouling paint beginning in 1863 until the factory closed in the 1980s. Situated at the entrance to Gloucester Harbor, this iconic site has guided the city’s fishermen and women home for over 150 years. Purchased by Ocean Alliance in 2008, the property preserves this historic landmark and serves as the foundation for an ocean innovation center on the Gloucester waterfront.
