Description

Originally known as Holms Hole, Vineyard Haven was the last home port of Joshua Slocum and his yacht Spray, and historically served as an anchorage for coastal sailing ships awaiting favorable winds and tides. Today, Vineyard Haven hosts classic sailing yachts, boat builders, bakeries, restaurants, car and bicycle rentals, a supermarket, and year-round ferry service—all within walking distance of our docks. The airport, golf courses, galleries, and farmers’ markets are easily reached by bus or taxi. Vineyard Haven is a convenient port for visiting, crew changes, reprovisioning, and can also serve as a mail drop. We accommodate vessels 25–270 ft with drafts up to 12 ft. Hourly docking is available for day trips, with rates based on the length of stay. Fuel Dock: Open when the flag is raised, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. during high season. High-flow nozzles are available for faster fills. Bulk fueling of 2,000 gallons or more can be arranged on request, and bulk fueling is also available at North Wharf Fuel Dock in Edgartown. Note: The harbor is exposed to winds and waves from the north to northeast. You may be asked to move your vessel, or docks may be closed for safety. Please consider this when planning your passage.
