Mooring rentals include 12 transient moorings located in the first two rows closest to the breakwater in the outer harbor, positioned outside of the breakwater. Availability runs from June 26 through October 14. The moorings are identified as white, conical-shaped mooring balls with a blue bottom marked “Rental,” along with a small yellow reserve poly ball. Reservations are accepted through Dockwa or in person on a first-come, first-served basis. First-come, first-served rentals require payment by cash or check only. There are no inner harbor moorings available, no dockage or slips, and rafting of vessels is not permitted. Upon approach, boaters should hail “Vineyard Haven Launch Service” on VHF Channel 72. Transient mooring rental rates are $70 per night or $30 for a half day (four hours). Launch service operates from June 28 through September 2, 2025, and provides transportation to and from both the inner and outer harbor seven days a week. Payment for launch service must be made directly to the launch driver by cash or check only. Boaters should hail “Vineyard Haven Launch Service” on VHF Channel 72 to request a ride. Launch service hours are Sunday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with limited availability after 9:00 p.m. for unique circumstances by hailing on Channel 72, and Friday and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Launch rates are $4 per person, per trip, from any mooring, and $1 per trip for children under 12.
