Description
Westport Harbour is a working commercial and fishing harbour located at the mouth of the Buller River on New Zealand’s West Coast. The harbour also accommodates recreational vessels and has a floating pontoon marina approximately one nautical mile upriver from the harbour entrance. The marina provides secure berths with power and fresh water, making it suitable for visiting boats and longer stays.
The harbour provides a floating jetty and boat ramp, secure access, parking and an ablutions block with toilets, showers and laundry facilities. Westport Harbour is managed by Buller District Council, and vessels entering the harbour should contact the Harbourmaster because the entrance crosses a potentially hazardous river bar.
