Description

Georges Island is home to historic Fort Warren, one of Boston Harbor’s most significant Civil War–era landmarks. The island also offers shaded shelters and picnic areas overlooking the water. Georges Island provides two mooring fields, allowing boaters to secure a mooring near the island or across the channel adjacent to Gallops Island. The Gallops mooring field offers exceptional views of Fort Warren. Please note that Gallops Island is currently closed to public access. The park is open daily from dawn to dusk, with facilities available during ferry operating hours. Reservations may be made for both daytime visits and overnight stays. Pets are not permitted.
