Description
Southport Yacht Club (SYC) is a major waterfront yacht club and marina located at Main Beach on the Gold Coast, Queensland. Established in 1946, the club has a strong focus on sailing, cruising and powerboating and operates several waterfront facilities across the Gold Coast.
The SYC Marina is located at the southern end of the Broadwater and provides floating marina berths for members and visiting vessels. The marina offers a sheltered cruising environment with access to the Gold Coast waterways and Moreton Bay. Long-term marina berths are in high demand and the club currently operates a waiting list for members and visitors seeking stays of three months or longer.
The marina provides a 24-hour fuel jetty supplying diesel, premium and unleaded fuel. On-site boating services include slipway facilities, chandlery, boat sales and engineering services. The marina is also the Gold Coast Customs Clearance Site, making it particularly useful for cruising vessels arriving from or departing for international destinations.
The Main Beach clubhouse provides waterfront dining and social facilities, including the Waterfront Restaurant and function spaces. The wider Southport Yacht Club organisation also operates the Hollywell Sailing Squadron, which has additional boating and sailing facilities at Hollywell.
