Description
Maggie Island Marina, officially Magnetic Island Marina, is located in Nelly Bay on Magnetic Island, Queensland, approximately 20 minutes by ferry from Townsville. The marina sits within the protected Nelly Bay Harbour and is promoted as a sheltered base for cruising around the Great Barrier Reef, with particular protection during North Queensland's tropical cyclone season.
The marina provides berthing for visiting and longer-term vessels and has 15-amp and three-phase power, showers, toilets and coin-operated laundry facilities. Marina users can also make use of courtesy vehicles to explore Magnetic Island, while local bus and ferry services provide connections around the island and to the Townsville mainland.
The location is convenient for everyday supplies, with an IGA supermarket and bottle shop approximately two minutes away. Restaurants and cafés are also available around Nelly Bay and elsewhere on Magnetic Island.
